As Chief Executive, he provides overall strategic leadership for the company, working closely with the WJEC Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) Board and represents WJEC in a range of external settings.<br /><br />When he joined WJEC, Ian was initially appointed as Deputy Director for the National Grid for Learning project, before becoming Assistant Director for IT Service Management and Collaboration.</p>\n<p>Prior to joining WJEC, Ian was Education IT Manager for a local authority, where he was responsible for the strategic development and implementation of technology that supported both administration and more importantly, teaching and learning.</p>"},{"accordionTitle":"Richard Harry","accordionTitleSecondary":"Read all about Richard Harry","accordionImage":"/media/q3idtedp/4.png?width=70&height=70&v=1dafe2717b071b0","accordionContent":"<p><strong>Executive Director: Qualifications and Assessment</strong></p>\n<p>Richard joined WJEC in 2013, and in 2015 was promoted to Assistant Director (Standards, Processing & Research). Richard was appointed the role of Director of Qualifications and Assessment in January 2023 and oversees our qualification design, assessment development and the delivery of each examination series. <br /><br />Richard is also WJEC’s Responsible Officer, being the lead contact between us and our regulators in Wales, England and Northern Ireland. <br /><br />Prior to joining WJEC, Richard worked as a senior researcher at Sport Wales, working on a range of research projects focused on increasing children and adults’ participation in sport and physical activity. He also chaired the Sport Wales Advisory Group between 2015 and 2017, advising the organisation’s board on innovation and future trends. As Director of Finance, Abigail leads WJEC’s financial management and control, is responsible for setting the annual budget and 5 year Financial Plan, fee levels and oversees business resource planning.</p>\n<p>After graduating from Cambridge University, Abigail joined Deloitte where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW, attaining the fourth place in the order of merit for her final examinations. With over 15 years’ experience working in industry, she has held senior accounting roles with RAC plc, Morgan Cole Solicitors and the BBC.</p>\n<p>Originally from Swansea, Abigail is a fluent Welsh speaker.</p>"},{"accordionTitle":"Ian Edwards","accordionTitleSecondary":"Read all about Ian Edwards","accordionImage":"/media/tbkfqjbe/3.png?width=70&height=70&v=1dafe27185193b0","accordionContent":"<p><strong>Executive Director: Operations</strong></p>\n<p>Ian Edwards joined WJEC in 2008 as Operations Manager. He is responsible for managing the development, printing and logistics of question papers and other printed resources at WJEC's site at Trefforest. His role also incorporates the administration of the post results service processes.</p>\n<p>In 2013, Ian assumed the role of Operations Director taking on the responsibility for the facilities and buildings management for both of WJEC's sites as well as corporate responsibility for EHS.</p>\n<p>Ian's background is in manufacturing processes, Continuous Improvement and Quality. He has 20 years production and manufacturing experience in the fields of aerospace, electronics and metal production.</p>"},{"accordionTitle":"Beverley Green","accordionTitleSecondary":"Read all about Beverley Green","accordionImage":"/media/f41fru1i/bev-green-2.png?width=70&height=70&v=1dafe27186e9190","accordionContent":"<p><strong>Executive Director: People and Organisation</strong></p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\" class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: #201f1e;\">Beverley joined WJEC in 2004 and has over 20 years’ experience in HR gained in a number of sectors.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 12.0pt; background: white;\" class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: #201f1e;\">As Head of Human Resources, Beverley supports the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team in relation to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the human resources strategy and associated policies.</span></p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\" class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: #201f1e;\">Beverly graduated from Cardiff University and is a fluent Welsh speaker.</span></p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\" class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: #201f1e;\">Beverley is also a BACP accredited counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling</span></p>"},{"accordionTitle":"Ben Newby","accordionTitleSecondary":"Read all about Ben Newby","accordionImage":"/media/3bqd0ghk/6.png?width=70&height=70&v=1dafe2718a88d50","accordionContent":"<p><strong>Executive Director: Digital and Transformation</strong></p>\n<p>Ben joined WJEC in 2021 as the strategic lead on all aspects of digital delivery, ensuring the effective application of technology across both internal and external services.</p>\n<p>Prior to WJEC, Ben has held senior technology, commercial and transformation roles across a range of regulated sectors. Steffan will be using this experience to create a portfolio of qualifications to meet the widening needs of our learners and centres. <br /><br />Originally from the Swansea Valley, Steffan is a fluent Welsh speaker.</p>"}]}
